Check it out! The Girl Scouts asked us to fly the celebration of the 100th anniversary of their founding on March 12, 1912:

This adventure kind of sneaked up on us. Although we had no idea at the time, one of the people we met at Northwest SARCon, Lauren Shapiro, is the Council Program and Day Camp Manager for the Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Months later, while she and her colleagues were planning the big anniversary party at Pioneer Courthouse Square in downtown Portland, they talked about how cool it would be to get some aerial footage of the event, especially the huge friendship circle scheduled for 12:12 p.m.

That seemed like an impossible idea, until she remembered the bizarre contraptions she'd seen buzzing around the whitewater safety and survival course she took last October.

The rest, as they say, is history: she tracked us down on the Internet, sent us an e-mail and we were glad to be able to help out. Don't tell her this, but we would have done it even if she hadn't promised us Girl Scout cookies!
