Nice build Cheesy. I'm confused as to in what way this is till a G2(excluding the fins and canopy).. everything has been replaced, so effectively you could name this anything.. right?

You most certainly could name it pretty much whatever you want.  Let's start a naming contest and whoever wins gets all the leftovers after the first crash, m'kay Ernie?

I'm going with "McCeed RC Crackin G2 Dowell"

It's a hotrod G2.
I hate, and I will never use the word hate, the twin gear drive.
A gear that drives a gear that drives the tail.A bit redundent.Don't ya think?
The motor drives the head and tail together.Better.Don't ya think?
From a 3D flyer,to y'all, take it easy and learn slowly. It will come to you Grin

With this build, it looks like it could house the 1800mah or 2200mah battery pretty comfortably in the frame unlike the stock G2? Or is this more possible with the blue canopy that came with the kit?

The battery compartment is a half inch longer but otherwise the same size as a G2.
I didn't have any bigger 3S batteries to try.I only fly 6S now.
I've since sold this heli.

What servos did you use on this bird and how well did it fly?

Never tried to fly it.Only a hover in the living room to prove that it would.
It had a Hitec 5065 on the tail and the other three were the stock G2 servos from Xheli.

I have the same setup except that its for the 12mm boom instead of the 9. Did you think that the ball links that controlled the pitch seemed a little shorter than the stock ball links?
