Three good cyclic servos/500 size brushless motor/Electronic speed control (ESC)/Gyro and Digitail tail servo/Good Tx/Rx set.

On top of the kit price you are talking a good bit of money. You can go cheap at maybe a $500 range for all, and go up from there. I suggest you do it right and not cut corners if your gonna build a 500 that will be worthy.

What kind of budget are you working with? Do you have some kind of RC experience? 500 size is sweet, bit I might wanna steer you smaller depending on answers to above questions.

They don't do RTF -

Kit                   180           exi 500
radio                200           DX6i
servos(cyclic)    120           align
ESC                 120           scorpion
Motor                80           scorpion
GY & Servo       200           Align
2 lipos              250           lightning power
Rx pack & Reg     65           lightning power
                    1215.00

This would be a ball park, you could get some stuff for less $, but not much. That's not built or extra tools and supplies.

Your showing prices for very high end stuff, not typical of most people who fly the clones.

I built my EXI 500 for much less than that.  Most of the difference is not buying Scorpion motor/esc and the Gyro.
Plus I did not spend $125 a pack for batteries.

I built my TT e550 for much less than that also using stuff that had a good reputation.

I did spend a pretty penny on servos for the 500 though. I could have gotten $30 Hitec's which had a good reputation but got the $50 HItec 5245's instead.

I only have a few packs on the EXI 500 but so far so good, gobs of power and very agile.
