I heard from a very reliable source that the A-10 at nitroplanes wasn't very good, but they are suppose to have a brushless version coming sometime this year

Yes it's hard, over $1000, no you can't try it

Well Nuttcaze, all of your HBFP stuff helped me when I started the helis, and I've had so much fun with those I decided to get a plane.  I saw your videos for the piper cub and now I've got one on order.  Your video was the biggest influence that I have for even choosing the piper cub, so the manufacturer should give you many thanks....free stuff, etc. Wink

I plan to get an RC buggy and boat this summer when the snow goes away, so I hope I find a nice instructional video with a great recommendation just like I did with the heli and plane.  If not, that's cool, but I'll looking for your recommendations either way.  Thanks again for all of the useful information.

You don't have to buy a crappy trainer plane to be your first rc.  I bought brushless powered F4U Corsair and practiced on the Flight Model Simulator (free) for a week.  I flew it for the first time today, and it was a perfect run.  No, I didn't join a club, and I did it solo without a buddy box.  It was great to perform loops, barrel rolls and jack knifes on my very first rc flight ever.

Wow, nice job Nuttcaze.  Thanks for the review.  You would be a candidate for our VIP Membership program.  I made an announcement about it on the very first section of the forum: http://www.rcdiscuss.com/index.php/topic,16632.0.html.  Thanks again!

Nuttcaze,

I really enjoyed your vids.  I am an older guy but brand new to RC.  My Daughter bought me a Tower Hobbies 40 ARF for Christmas.  I figured I better do some research prior to flying.  I saw your vids and now have the FSM simulator and bought the J3 Cub to practice on prior to 1st flight of the TH40.  I have the FSM simulator pretty much nailed down.  Just waiting for some good weather to try out the Cub.  Thanks much for the vids.  They were quite helpful.

One question, when you assembled your J3, In what hole on rudder and elevator control arms did you attach the pushrods?  I currently have the pushrods in the middle hole.  I do not know how sensitive the controls are going to be so I thought I would start in the middle.  What would you (or anyone else for that matter) advise?

Appreciate any thoughts on the matter.   Smiley
