all the sims suck bad , if your not getting phoniex rc/ real flight g4 / your wasting your money nothing else can compare or even come close except reflex rc.
does not matter what the chart says take it from us users and i own six sims , and i play everyday #1 phoniex
#2 real flight i love those 2 the most . dont waste your time with imatation and fms is the absolote worst looking
pacman has better graphics.

realflight and phoneix have online multiplayer.
wish my friend crackin would buy real flight g4 the physics and sound quality is the best really man and the different camera angles it allows is off the hook, you can fly in the sky behind the heli in one mode helps you to understand the controls in this mode.]

i would not recommend any other sims to any one spend the 100 bucks.
you get what you pay for.

Hi guys im looking for a Sim that could allow me to go from a 4ch setup to a 6ch for heli's , Im new to all of this and I really want to sim before I make an investment on a nice choper . Im hoping there are resonably priced sims that will allow me to not just practice on a specific ch configuration .

Thanks in advance

Almost all of the sims that I know of have the capability of flying either 4 or 6 channel setups, even FMS. You may have to get a different controller or you can use the keyboard on most sims to select the different functions, such as toggleing from normal to stunt mode.

Thanks for the prompt reply , so what would you recommend as a good (scalable) flight sim program , and what is the difference between a 4ch co ax and 4ch fixed pitch ?

The top 3 sims  on the market are (in no particular order) Realflight G4.5, Pheonix, and FS One. I have not used Pheonix so I can't say much about that one. I have used Realflight and I own FS One. In my opinion, FS One has better physics and graphics but is somewhat limited as far as available models. There is not a huge difference in the physics and graphics from FS One to Realflight just enough that I could tell anyway. Realflight has tons of available models and is a very popular sim but it is also the most expensive at nearly twice the price of FS One.

4 Ch Co-axial--
Dual, counter-rotating main blades and no functioning tail rotor. They have all the same control functions as the Fixed Pitch helis but are very stable and easy to fly. They are somewhat limited to their manuverablity but are great for beginners to learn the basic stick movements and get their orientaion down.

4 Ch Fixed Pitch--
A single main rotor with a functioning tail rotor. These are capable of all the same flight manuvers as a real helicopter. Fixed Pitch (FP) helis are a good choice as a second heli after a co-axial but are also good for beginners who want more of a challenge. They are also much, much more difficult to fly than a co-ax. If you can learn to hover and fly a 300 class FP heli then you can fly almost anything.

if fsone is close to real flight then you should try Pheonix grahics are amazing but to me real flight has better physics, and Pheonix has tons of models just like real flight , and Pheonix and real flight have online multiplayer. Grin

and thank you for the info on fsone id love to try it wish they had a demo
Pheonix and reflex the grass looks REAL but reflex has a limit on how far you can
fly around that is very small if you fly behind your self but if your flying forward your field is endless
tis why i dont like reflex and Pheonix rc kicks its tail.

real flight has instructors that talk to you and try and train you .
real flight just has so many options that it just incredible , you can adjust wind speed , transmittier interference, just some much can be done and it has tons and tons of addons and models.

I think I am going to end up buying Phoenix, I like that the upgrades are offered free. After paying $200 for RF4.5 its crazy that they have a crap load of 30 dollar addons. Who do they think they are The Sims?

........
I can't get my FMS to act correctly as regards gravity. Most heli's don't drop fast enough on FMS when I cut power. It's like they float for a split second before coming down unless the heli has some negative pitch added in on the CP heli's. Plus the fact that ALL helicopters fly in 3D mode on FMS. Even the Chinook I downloaded from the shareware site can fly inverted!..........

What shareware site has a chinook for FMS?
I have been looking for onw that will work in FMS.
Thanks

Does anyone have any views on greatplanes sim, G5 vs. G4.5? I'm thinking about upgrading, but only if the physics are better. I have enough models, real flight really has that covered. My only problem is my computer is a tad slow. If G5 is faster, I'll go for it, but I would rather not spend the money for nothing.

I just got my heli and the FMS. But I can't get the FMS to work right. The controls have no effect. I noticed the package does not include Vista as an operating system it's designed for. Is this true? If so it appears I can use the FMS controller with any other software. Right?

Also, my heli also comes with a controller that has a cable to use for any simulator so it looks like I ought to spend a bit and just by software like Clearview or Phoenix. Suggestions?
