Heres some info on flight simulators, for the newbies

____________________________________________________________________________________

The best place to start is to get this E_Sky Sim Kit From X-Heli, its only $20

Want this heli and landscape for FMS, DownLoad These

E_Sky HBCP2 - http://www.mediafire.com/?mmzmomammin

Indoor Hall - http://www.mediafire.com/?qmcxcmyjnyi

_____________________________________________________________________________________

I've been spending alot of time playing around on FMS lately, I've been downloading new models and scenery and have found some very good ones. The biggest complaint about FMS has always been the lack of realism, well when you download new scenery's and models it solves alot of the problem, its no where near as realistic as the more expensive sims but Flight simulators are mainly just to teach you the basics of controlling the heli. Every model in FMS handles and responds different, there are quite a few that are very realistic. A great alternative to buying another sim.

Additional Installation Instructions Below

____________________________________________________________________________________________

After you have the ESky Sim Kit, you can then use the USB Tx for other sims like Clearview. Its only $40 (it must be purchased online and downloaded), Clearview is probably one of the best values when it comes to simulators, it Rivals even the $200 sims

Clearview Sim - $40

And a quick look at Aerofly Pro Deluxe - $200

Free Downloads to make FMS MUCH better!!

Get more models and scenery here

Well through lots of web surfing, I've finally found some sceneries and models that both look and perform more like the real thing. I've been collecting them so that I can put them all in one place so that others may download the files too (free). I am still working on getting everything together but it will be broke down to 6 folders, my favorite planes/helis/sceneries, the rest will just be average models and sceneries that I've found.

This is all for 2.8x versions of FMS

The Quality of the sim depends on your computer.

Fav Helis (28) - http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=4605faf1036dda1491b20cc0d07ba4d2aa8c528ca12b90c4
Fav Planes (56) - http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=4605faf1036dda1491b20cc0d07ba4d299126ea0f22dc82b
Fav Sceneries (9) - http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=4605faf1036dda1491b20cc0d07ba4d273a8dac08c4e569d

To Install Additional Models and Landscapes.

This works fine on my computer but Install at your own risk, I will accept no responsibility if you screw your computer up  Wink.

1 - Make a new folder on your Desktop Named "FMS".

2 - Open that floder and make 2 additional Folders, one named "Models" and the other named "Landscapes"

3 - Go Download new planes/helis and save them to the "Models Folder" in the "FMS" folder. Save any Landscapes in the "Landscape Folder"

---You will need WinRar to extract the files - http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250_4-10007677.html

4 - Open either the Models or Landscapes Folder, at the top select "Edit" and then go down and click on "Select All"

5 - After they are all highlighted, right click on any one, a menu will pop up, click on extract files

6 - Extract the files to C: Drive - Program Files - FMS - "Models" or "Landscapes"

If any menus pop up asking if you would like to replace any files, click "Yes to all"

After they are done extracting, everything is finished and the new models and landscapes will be ready for use. You will need Versions 2.8x to use PhotoRealistic Backgrounds. You may also need a video card, it will depend on your comp.

Tips:

TURN THE FOG OFF

Depending on the size of your computer screen, try zooming in or out to make the picture better scaled to your screen.

Try turning "Fixed Viewing Position" off, the heli won't always be centered in the middle of the screen, pretty cool, I didn't like it but I'm sure some others will.

Yea whats with the serial cable? I have this awesome sim and I can't use it because the cable that came with my helicopter has a serial plug. Noones used a serial plug in like 20 years -I don't even know if I have one behind my computer. I had to send away for a usb cable but of course I could only find it in china so I have to wait for that -don't know if it will even work with walkera transmitters.

If you search around you can probably find a serial to usb adapter for the cable you have. I found one on  for a hand held GPS that I bought a few years ago which came with a serial cable.

I know this has been covered before, but I made a vid about FMS installation last night, if I'd have seen the write up before I made my vid I would have kept it the same but I didn't see it till after but they're close enough, I also have video of Clearview and will be posting that soon too, that sim has come a LONG way since the last time I saw it, wow, worth every half cent of $40

I just added 3 vids at the top showing FMS, Clearview and Aerofly Pro. The E_sky sim and Clearview is awesome! and only costs $60 compared to $200 for Aerofly

I'm not sure I follow you. The first vid shows FMS, the second is clearview and 3rd is Aerofly Pro Deluxe. Before Wed I had never used anything besides Aerofly, I haven't tried the Phoenix sim yet.

Great graphics on the Clearview -what are the specs on your computer? I might install it on my good computer if the new video card doesn't help enough -I use this computer for school and graphic programs and a crash would be beyond a disaster. It's still not all that fast -I built it like 5 years ago and spent a fortune -probably couldn't get squat for it now. I'll be building a new one soon!

Thanks for the review!!
That's exactly what I've been running for a couple of weeks.

I did a lot of research online and decided also to buy the Clearview sim.

I understand that the HBFP is not quite a twitchy on the sim as in real life, but there are two changes you can make to the advanced physics that supposedly make it much more realistic. I don't have them here, but they sure make it more squirrely!
One of them gives the heli some left tendency at takeoff. The other makes the controls react a little differently.
I've already crashed the sim HBFP a BUNCH of times!

What's your take on the HPFP accuracy in the sim?

I just received my real HPFP today, but won't dare fly that until a LOT more time on the sim!

Amazingly, the Blaze CX on the sim behaves a LOT like the Lama 3 that I have.

I'm running Clearview on a 3ghz AMD X2, 2 gig ram, XP, Nvidia 8800GTS 512mb, 24" monitor at 1920 x 1200 32 bit, AA forced on.
Looks really beautiful and framerates are smooth as glass. No stutters at all.

I love the crash effects! You can even pop off the landing gear and tail rotors sometimes and it leaves parts on the ground and still flies! Losing a tail rotor is funny! Piro's like crazy!

I was playing around and got the Blaze CX stuck in a wall in the gym! It was STUCK there! Had to force a session restart.

I have also flown planes for many years, and quite a few of the planes on there fly really close to some I've had! I'm really impressed.
