i was wanting to purchase an rc, but i am very new 2 this and don't have a clue as to what kind of car to choose.  i would like one that goes about 40-45 mph and can perform jumps.  i don't know whether to get a nitro or an electric one and whats the difference.  a car, buggy, truck, or atv.  i figure i need one that has pretty easy upkeep and i would also like to know what is the maintenance like on these vehicles. can anyone give me any advice?

I would perfer you a electric brushless buggy more than a nitro one. Fast, strong, and durable, super easy to maintain. Pop a couple of aa battery and you are good to go. And yes it can speed up to 40mph, can do some jumps, and bashing fun

Dont buy from Nitro RCX for your first because you will be replacing parts and it will cost more to replace parts than it will to buy a good car I.E. HPI Savage. or HPI RS4

If you get a nitro you will quickly find that there is alot to learn (in a good way) and you will want to progress in this hobby further, if you get an electric you may be like "electrics are for sissy's" and get board of it really quick, im not saying electrics are for sissy's i ment that in a comical way, trying to push the nitro a little harder

all is that im saying is in nitro you will have room to grow and learn, general hands on knowledge and stuff like that.

And they sound way cooler

electrics are for sissys Cheesy

nah not really..

well kinda

but anyways the slash is built for the design of off road truck racing trucks. They loot pretty cool. You can see what I am talking about on the Speed Channel.

It is a replica and that is why it looks kind of wierd

I would much rather get an nitro rc car over an eletric just because it will most likely last a lot longer. Also I would but from nitrorcx.com but I would not buy a exceed rc car because the replacement parts are too much money.

Looks like some of you don't read the dates.  This thread was made on November 30, 2008.  10 months ago... a dead topic if there ever was one.
