Sounds like you have all the necessary parts.  You might need a pinion for the brushless motor.

For the 4200kv motor, I would use 8T pinion.

You can either wire the esc and 4in1 power leads together or use Y adapter for the power, leave the brush motor connector open and plug the BL esc to #4 slot of the 4in1.  You may have to re-adjust the PIT/PZT knobs.

I would use a 11t pinion that uses a grub screw so you can change to other pinion if you don't like the one you get.  Make sure the pinion fits the shaft of your brushless motor.  Most lie the HDX is 2.3mm or 3.17mm.

I have an eagle 50 too and have a similar brushless motor and esc. You have to Y the power with the 4 in 1? I was wondering why the tail rotor wasn't working. Everything else works fine with the esc plugged into channel 4. Thanks for saving me a separate post on this topic.

Exceed Eagle 50

my previous string vanished? So i will ask again.so the biggest milliamp battery to upgrade to in this bird is the 1200milliamp
i would like to go bigger for more flight time if any  one has flown safely with a milliamp battery bigger than the 1200
please advise. Its weard on my Blazing star with twin 370's more flight time than on this Eagle 50 with a single 370 motor
you would think you should have twice the flight time.Huh???  whats wrong with this picture.?
please advise

The Exceed BS flys longer because it is lighter.

With the Exceed Eagle 50/Walkera #22E, I used an 11.1v 1,300Mah 15c LIPO and it fys for about 7-10 minutes.  I then used an 11.1v 1,000Mah 20c LIPO and it flew for about 7-10 minutes.  The weight becomes an issue. - So the optimal LIPO Battery would be around 1,000Mah.

Below is a video with a metal CNC Rotor head upgrade, Blade Upgrade, Super Skids 300, Super Skids Titanium tail boom, Super Grips, 3-amp ATO Fast Blow fuse, line filter, and an ON/OFF Switch for convenience.

On the 35/72Mhz Exceed Eagle 50/Walkera #22E, you cannot convert the tail to brushless which was one of the major drawbacks.  The new 2.4 Ghz Walkera #22E/Exceed Eagle 50 can be modified for a main brushless motor as well as a direct drive brushless tail motor.  I have done the mod on both helis as the Rx is exactly the same as the rest of the heli.  Below is a video of the totally brushless system.  Works great with tail authority since its a direct drive and no more spending money to replace carbon brushed motors that fail after about 3 dozen flights.
