I've had an EXCEED RC Champion PRO with the brushless motor for just about one month. Its been great and it really fast. My son and I love racing this car.

A week ago after driving for ~15-20 minutes the car motor started behaving erratically. Then I noticed that the car sparks were coming from the motor. I shutdown for the day. The next weekend I took the motor out and ran it some on the bench. After a minute or so of forward and reverse the sparks stopped coming out and the motor seemed to run better. So I put the motor back in the car and took it out for a run. It ran pretty slow for about 1 minute then would not run at all. Both leds on the esc go red. When I power cycle the car the esc comes back ok with both sets of tones so I think the esc is OK. As soon as I push the throttle the same thing happens, red leds on the esc. So I shutdow for the day and ran another car.

I tried to contact sales to see if I can get a replacement motor. First they answered that I can't return the car after 30 days. (I ordered this 34 days ago but I've only had it for 27 days...) I replied that I don't want to return the car I just want the get the defective motor fixed/replaced. Then they replied that I need to contact a technician on the live chat but live chat is not open now so I figured I'd try here since I see others getting replacement parts for defective parts in this forum.

Can I get a replacement motor?

Hi Andy,

I just received the replacement motor but it does not look like the same motor. The brushless motor I sent in was blue and had 3 wires. The replacement motor you sent is silver and only has only two wires. I suspect that the replacement is a brushed motor. Can you please send me the correct one?

Thanks Mike

Mike,

Sorry about this. I'll send you another motor and I'll make sure it's brushless.

my brand new right out of the box sunfire pro brushless version doesn't run right. it jitters a bit and then just takes off if you are barely pulling back on the trigger, it should not jolt forward like that.
i was thinking maybe the esc and motor where not properly programmed or the motor is bad. what can  be done??
