Just what the doctor ordered!!!!!!
AWESOME videos!!!

I was looking at a heli to build for my next step after the HBFP.

I just ordered this heli along with all the parts you used, and some CF blades. I also have a DX6i already.

I look forward to the build!

I am curious about the tail parts. Have these fallen apart, or do they just look weak?

THANKS!

Yes Nuttcaze a.k.a. Marc has been my primary teacher.  I have bookmarked all his videos.  Should he ever put up a paypal donation box, i'd gladly contribute.  As far as the tail goes, it looks like it might be plastic when everything else is metal or carbon.  You might be able to use this tail http://www.xheli.com/t450altaup.html   but it has always been out of stock.  I'd build this heli too, but my next heli is an ES600 (ESmart)

Thanks a lot for the pictures. I guess different color aluminum parts are the one you replaced.
Another question why you replaced them? Doesn't the originals do the job?

Oh the stock parts work fine, I just whacked the blades on something that resulted in broken pitch arm (?) It was easier to go to my LHS Local hobby shop) and the "Chocolate" See-saw with arms for the T-Rex 450 were only $15, they didn't have new plastic arms anyways. Then I changed the flybar, main shaft and feathering shafts to Stainless Steel parts for the T-Rex 450, just a bit stronger, the white flybar paddles are from a Eflite B400, one of my original paddles was stripped and wouldn't stay on so these were a quick replacement, I plan on getting carbon fiber paddles soon though.

Finally got a chance to take my EXI 450 outside, it was really nice because the wind calmed down right after I took off. I still have some minor adjusting to do but overall I'm really happy with it. Even took it up for 2 sloppy loops, my fingers were pretty cold by that point

I didn't keep the packaging unfortunately but depending on what you need most T-Rex 450 parts are a direct fit.

Hey Nuttcaze,
I received my build package today (except my radio) and while reading the gyro info, they recommend installing the gyro right-side-up. In the build videos you mounted yours up-side-down. I'm not questioning your knowledge, just clarifying. I'm following the videos nut for nut and just want to make sure.
With any luck, Ill receive my radio this week and get some air under this thing. Then all Ill need are some ideas for dressing up this canopy.

Yeah, my instructions said to mount it right side up but underneath is the best and safest place (as per Finless Bob's instructions, he's the "Instructional heli guide God" and my teacher  Grin) But mine works fine being upside down, it has to since most helis with HH gyros are CP's and fly inverted anyways.

Hmm, is the front skid holder supposed to be taller than the back one? Or are they both the same size? On mine the back is shorter than the front one.

Edit:
Now that I've reversed them, my tail boom is now level with the ground.. yay

I completed my build today, and with the exception of one bad servo, all is well. I still need to dial in the gyro. The tail flutters in high rate, and doesn't seem to respond in low rate. Any ideas nuttcaze? Without your video, I wouldn't have attempted this project. Many thanks for your time and willingness to share your knowledge. I look forward to your next build. Budget allowing, I'll be with you.

sounds like your gyro needs adjustment, remember that any time you adjust your gyro you must unplug the heli and then plug it back in, otherwise the changes don't do anything. I'd start by lowering the gyro gain and spend so time trying different settings
