An absolute beginner: where do I start?

Hi, I am researching nitro R/C monster trucks. I want one as a hobby, requiring a lot of assembly and tinkering. Ideally I would start with some minimalistic kit and go from there a la carte.

I'd appreciate a few pointers (sales pitches are welcome).

Well if you wan`t a Nitro MT (monster truck) Kit, I`d say the HPI Savage XSS, it`s a super sweet truck and you get to build the hole thing from scratch, and is the like best MT you can get!
I should get mine tomorrow! Grin

I`ll be posting pics and a vid of the build and stuff on "HPI Savage XSS" thread when I get it, so hopefully that`ll help you choose. Wink
