well come on guys, view this world with a open mind, sometimes you have to try something else to know if it's good,  pretty decent to me, took jumps and bumps well =)

Only problem is purchase of parts...

3 runs of 3 hours and it's still doing well.

I don't find the shocks being sold on Nitro RCX, any one can help on this as I want to buy parts to stock up and from 1 site.

I know, people look down on it and I think its really a nice truck.

your local hobby shop should have shocks that fit. just take one off and head to the hobby shop with it and they can measure it and match a shock to it. at least thats what my hobby shop dudes will do. then you can get better shocks as well. not that the exceed ones are no good, but there are deff better ones out there.

Before i even got it out of the box, the body of my Mad Beast was already dented, big deal i figure it's gonna get beat up anyhow.  Then, after just a few tanks of fuel, the glow plug goes, big deal, it happens all the time, now, after i fix the glow plug, the One Way Bearing goes so it slips when i try to start it.  I want to fix it but can't find out what brand name the engine is to get replacement parts for it, so...

Can anyone tell me what the brand name of the .28 engine in the Mad Beast is?  Or tell me where to get parts for it.?

hey whats up bedknife i think i found out that the madbeast engine is made by sh engines or vertex. They both are made in taiwan i not 100% sure on the info but im about 75% sure. Also to answer your other question about finding parts for the engine if it is sh or vertex you can find parts at www.redcatracing.com well hope this helps and good luck peace out. Grin Grin

hey whats up bedknife just a thought i was looking at the madbeast and the hpi savage and i noticed a few similuraties between them and i was thinking since you already have a madbeast why not turn it  into a hpi savage clone all would have to do is swap out your .28 engine with a hpi 4.6 .28 engine and put a savage cover on it you can buy a engine for 164 dollars and a cover for 38 dollars if you decide to do this just go to www.towerhobbies.com for the parts well just thought i would throw that info at you i think it would be badass and you would have more power and a better performance engine well talk to later peace out. I'll think about it, as you've figured out, i am kinda newbish at this.  I'd like to get more than ten tanks of fuel run through this engine before i go buying a new one, but when this one dies, i'll consider it.

Ok, i've had my Mad Beast for 2-3 months now.  I think it is a great truck and has a great deal of potential.  Being my first Nitro RC truck, it has been quite a learning experience for me, but i found that the Mad Beast is pretty easy to work on and learn to maintain.   The truck handles well and can take one hell of a beating, I know mine has hit quite a few things and it just keeps going, and going well(i wasn't driving it, i swear).  Only issue that i have found, and perhaps it's just bad luck, but it seems like finding replacement parts is kinda like pulling teeth.  Broke the rear body mount posts rolling it down a hill after a sick climb, took almost 2 months to get those.  Ordered slipper pads that were supposedly in stock but were put on backorder after i ordered them, got those a couple weeks later too.  Am in need currently of a Spur gear, but those have been out of stock for a while now too.  Is Exceed even in business still, why such a shortage of spare parts.  The Mad Beast is a great truck, easy to use and learn on, and pretty bad ass, some of my HPI friends are scared as hell to race me, just wish getting the parts i need was a little bit easier.

i have recently purchased the madbeast and so far i have replaced the stock trans/receiver with a specktrum digital, i have replaced  the stock servos with futaba, i have had a cluch spring break on the first run ( fabricated my own replacement spring) and yesterday i flipped the truck and the body shattered into pieces. i liked the price and i was aware that because of the low price i would upgrading but i would like to see options for better electronics at time of purchase. i will admit that when i get the carb dialed in just right it runs like a scolded dog.
