Hey, i just got the Exceed-rc Battalian on christmas, and today i broke it.. After a little trouble getting it started after break in, i got it running and for whatever reason, lost radio contact 20 feet infront of me. Then the car proceeded to accelerate full throttle into the back of a car and shatter the front right swing arms, bend the front shock tower, and break something else that i cant remember the name of.

So i guess my questions are is there a failsafe available for this truck/ is there one in there and why didnt it function, and where can i get one, and how do i actually turn the car off when i need to, all i did was turn the car upside down until it ran out of gas..

Thanks

You can buy an Ofna Micro failsafe, or a Duratrax one for around $25 from any hobby store or website.  I'd advise also replacing the radio.  The stock ones with Exceed cars are absolute junk.  As for turning it off, you can do several things.  Plug the exhaust with your finger or shoe, pinch the fuel line into the carb, or my preferred method: stop the flywheel with your finger or shoe.  Only try to stop the flywheel if the engine is at idle however.  Especially if you have a run away, just plug the exhaust, and don't touch the flywheel if you want to keep your finger.  Good chance it would cut through a shoe as well.  By the way, when you just let it sit and run out of gas, it was at idle right?  If you left it at WOT for the whole time after it ran away and crashed the engine is probably damaged.  Always let the tank run dry when you are done for the day though.  Left over fuel in the engine, pipes, or tank will go bad and can damage the engine.

Hey there everyone, I'm obviously new, I literally know nothing about any of this, I bought this battalian, and I've broken it in sorta, I think I messed it up  Undecided but anywho, I have the needle valve screwed in 0.5mm and I screwed it out a 1/4 of a turn just to make it slightly leaner as I saw in the tutorials, I broke it in with 2 tanks of gas and then was driving it around after that, the manual only said I needed to break it in with 2-3 tanks of gas, so I wanted to drive it lol. I understand the engine, just not all the fine tuning, and if there's anything I need to do? it's winter right now so the engine gets cold and it seems as though it just needs to warm up sometimes before it will start, (i keep it inside though obv.)

Sometimes it seems that it isn't getting gas though and just stalls, or maybe it's just hitting an air bubble in the tank from driving it too wrecklessly. I'll look at the gas tubes and I have to flow gas into the engine before it will even start, and sometimes it just stalls when I start it, or maybe even a little after that, is there any fine tuning that might help me? Any tips, etc.. I'd like everyones advice because I don't know what I'm doing, it's pretty easy and straight forward to me so far, just the fine tuning of the air/fuel ratio and maybe other things.

I was driving it though on top of the snow and it dropped off a ledge of snow and hit some ice haha, snapped the front sus arm right off... sucked but I have the part on order and it was really cheap  Grin

I tried to follow the video nitrorcx.com has in its tutorial but it's pretty loosy goosy in its specifics and not very pertinent to me, seeing as I can't reach the 'low end screw'. The manual it has tells me different stuff though, they both lead me to having the needle valve screwed in 0.5mm around there. Which makes sense.

I didn't want to start with a beginner one, seemed very boring to me, and I have a lot of land, and road/dead end to drive this on once it hits spring/summer.

- Thanks for any help.

- Luke.

If it seems like it is not getting enough gas, you should turn the high speed needle out a little bit to make the mixture more rich, aka more fuel.  Do it in 1/8 turn increments, until the car performs good.

This site is simply a help site for all RC helicopters and cars, but some of the manufacturers of the Battalion (AKA Exceed RC employees) do frequent this site to help customers with repair/warranty/return/shipping information and help.  Plenty of us non-employees however, know our way around an RC, so if you have any questions feel free to ask me or any other member.  I might be busy sometimes, but I always read all my PMs and will get back to you, and try my best to get around to all the threads.  Welcome to the forum, and the world of RC.

Hey whats up man as far as going in deep water i really dont suggest going in to deep of water that it stalls out your engine you dont want to get any water in your carb or cylinder head cuz it could possibly warp your head.Well as far as driving in puddles and snow if you waterproof right you should have now problems cuz its always fun driving in snow and though puddles.Take it easy and talk to later peace.
