Hello just wondering what needs to be done to the chassis to fit a normal clutch bell.  I think the long one is a problem waiting to happen.  Do you have a special motor mount or something?  Thanks.

Hello, the stock clutch bell is really long and I can see that becoming an issue over time.  I want to install a normal clutch bell.  You even offer them for the Battalian as option parts but I need to know how to install it, or do I need to modify the chassis some way to make it fit?  Thanks.

Sorry you can't use the razor clutch bell on the batallion because the main gear's position is different. Unless you find a engine mount adapter that will allow you to shift the engine's position then it's not possible. If you install the razor's clutch bell onto the engine then somehow you need to move the engine forwards.

Yeah, I figured that 's what I had to do.  I have an idea using an OFNA adjustable motor mount which I am going to try.  If it works I will post pics on how to mod it.  I think it will be a more durable than stock and allow for more tuning options as well.

I currently have an Ofna buggy, and they come stock with those mounts.  You should be able to use them to move your engine forward a bit so that the smaller clutch bell will fit properly.

Hello Frozenshade and yes it worked very well with a little dremel work.  Here are some before and after photos.

The first picture is after the mod.  You have to enlarge the flywheel hole to allow the flywheel to sit further on the chassis.  The second picture shows the underside and the no longer needed stock holes in the chassis.  I am using low profile socket head screws.  They are no longer flush with the chassis but if a little scraping is going to prevent me from winning any race then I am a lot better than I thought!!  This last picture shows the before mod and the elongated stock clutch bell.   Let me know if you have any questions.  I believe it took me all of 45 minutes for the mod and I believe it to be time well spent.

Looks good man, and definitely worth the time.  I have never in my life seen a long clutch bell like that, and it looks ready to break at the slightest bump.

And, I hate to sound critical so forgive me, but honestly.  What bonehead designed that?

which drmel tool did you used? how long did it take you to sand out and enlarge the opening?

with the razor clutch bell it has more tooth so the battalon will go faster?

I imagine with some extra teeth it has a little faster top speed, but more teeth on the clutch bell does take away from the bottom end snap.
