so what does preload accually do other then a ride hight?

there doesn't seem to be much play for moving the shocks on the bottom of the tectonic, or are you not suppose to adjust the bottom?

Stiffer!

I have setup my truck with the shocks as inclined as I can get (top closer to chassis and bottom closer to tire).  I wanted to increase my lateral stability as much as I could, got a little tired of rolling over all the time.

I do recommend taking the cover off.  I ran mine once for a little while and when I took the cover off it was full of grass!  I personally run this one from HPI racing.  http://www.rcplanet.com/HPI_Air_Cleaner_p/hpi87198.htm

hi anyone,

I just used a tectonic 1/8 scale nitro pick-up today. I am using a 20% nitro fuel. I noticed that everytime i grip my remote for thrust, its so minimal in terms of power. it even can hardly climb an inclined plane makeshift i place. On level surface, it runs but i really notice less thrusting power but yet noise is loud as if powerful but not. Far different from my TAMIYA 1/8 nitrage. What seems to be my problem here? Pls advice me for anything i missed..

hi anyone,

What i mean is i want a thrust power thats exactly the same as the tectonic video in this forum section. My 1/8 tectonic truck seems to lack power. i hardly can climb a plane in our garage. Why is this so? wrong fuel? im using already the 20% nitro. Pls advise me anyone from the support or you guys who are pro's.

Make sure your tuned right. If you're not tuned right your engine won't run good at all. If there is a lot of smoke coming out of the exhaust try leaning your hsn and see if that helps 1/8 turn increments remember.

he means the high speed needle try leaning that a little bit 1/8 of a turn at a time.

im using 20% nitro and mine is running great so i don't think thats your problem, but do make sure that you tune your engine.

Let's not forget the most simple thing, clutch shoes!  It sounds like your clutch shoes are worn out.

If the shoes were melted the clutch would probably either always be engaged, or not engage at all.  I suppose if they were only slightly worn down it could cause a lack of power like that, but still from experience, my money is on a tuning issue.

No, remember he said that it revs up but doesn't go anywhere?  If the shoes are worn down to the springs there may not be enough surface area to properly engage, or they are binding.  I've never seen a tune issue cause a car not to climb only the slightest incline.

you do need to oil your air filter. I learned that because at first i didn't know how to get the cover off since the manual sucks! But, after i got it off i learned that and so ya you do.
