osyhaz,

Sorry to hear about your previous experience with those other models. You will be very happy with the new 450 pro. Out of the box it is an awesome machine. My parts showed up today. I flew 3 packs through it. Didn't have the camera out for it but I was just taking it easy to make sure it was ok. I put the factory blades paddles and tail blades back on it. It flys excellent. Honestly I cannot tell the difference. So I wll get some more video of it Bone stock! I have a Thunder Power !!!!!45c!!!!! 5000 lipo on the way for my 600 and I can't wait to see what that pack will do in my bone stock 600esp. I'm hoping for the same kind of collective power I have in the 450pro. We'll see.

I am trying to get an Xheli. I have flown almost every E-Flight product and would like to see what Xheli is all about. I think I would give an honest unbiased opinion. It might be a better alternative to Blade Cp's or 400s. I am starting to wonder if any Xheli rep even checks this thread? I would love to be able to say an Xheli is the right choice. I haven't had the chance to fly one. Sad

Hey Marc!
I must say that the bad experience was for my club buddies, they are the ones with the shelf helis, mines flies  and Im enjoing them. I have a Trex 500, Hurricane 550 a Blade 400 and two exis 450 plus one more clone think is an copter x, bought on   e  bay that is on the way to me. But the ones that makes me really proud are my exis, dont know about the originals trex 450 but this exis feels great for my level. It is a kind of low budget project that is making me adict to it, Im specialy impresed about the gyro, It is an DETRUM GY48V that Is out of stock (but you can find it on  for a couple of bucks more)Im not as good as you but you can see my video on youtube osyhaz channel
to see his performance doing funnels with an align cyclic servo on his tail. My last test was the same helicopter with the same gyro but a sg90 (about $4.00) on its tail with the stock tail blade (worst than blade 400 tail blades) and worked really good also. You should try one of thoose... Just for fun... My fun is to show my buddies that they spended lots of money on those dusty helis and I fly better than them with my cheaps helis. They looks like dont want to see me flying(or at least thats what I feel...jajaja). They are flying planesagain or are completely out of the hobby.

About the sponsorship, who knows?... I asked for it also but theres no replies. Im not asking exactly for a sponsorship, in my case XHELI is using one of my videos as a kind of tool for show a product(the gyro I told you but theres the helicopter too on the video) and I think that if they found the video usefull, they at least must help me someway with spares, a fair discount or something so I can practice more and then make more and better videos for them . I also left messages on the video with no replies from them. My written english is bad but my spoken english is worst so I dont want to call by phone. At this moment I can afford this hobby but it is not fair that they are using my video on bussines purposes without a cost, dont you think? Im Just waitting to see if theres a chance, if theres no reply then I will remove it myself.

Theres Justin Chi waitting for it also he is a really good option , and looks like they dont answered yet, who knows whats happening? Wish you luck men!

JAJAJA, while reading my quote, an idea came to me!!! maybe if we report ourself to the moderator they will pay attention!!!
wanna try?

osyhaz,

It's cool to find inexpessive products that perform well. Worring about messing up and crashing while your learning is a big issue. And when you have 500 dollars in a stock 400 worring about the replacement costs doesn't exactly help building your confidence. It's awsome you stuck with it. We have a very good group coming together in my area! We might outnumber planes this weekend at WIC, very excited. We have a funfly in Visalia Ca for newyears weekend coming up.

That's pretty cool they used your video. Did they mention you as a pilot or anything? Offered you any parts or discounts?

Hey Mark!

Im happy you found people to join you. Yes it is nice to find cheap parts but in the other hand  a contrasting situation, today I bought an used trex 600 nitro.
Look at this, a trex 600 nitro metal main grips and tailcase ,governor, align voltage regulator ignitor, hiper 50 engine with his pipe, ds821 spektrum servos on cyclics(must change) futaba 401 gyro s9254 tail servo, a thunder power new 6s charger($129.00) the starter shaft, a full nitro gal fuel. Align carbon fiber blades, a really really like brand new look DX7 spektrum. All for Lps.12,000.00!!! I mean US$630.00!!!!!!! JAJAJ it is not stolen!
I know the two previous ownersthe first one flew for about four months on week ends and the second one only did 3foot high hover. Thats the nice part of being  flying alone, there was no other prospect to buy it, almost felt bad for him... but he forced me to buy it with this ridiculus price, dont you  think?

Hey Marc!

Did they choose you??? They choose meeeee!!!!!! Just kidding Grin
Whats wrong with this people??? You are good, Justin Jee or Chi is incredible, and this people dont say anything? I was aplying not because of my skills, theres a lot of people  better than me, just wanted to get some discounts or something for the use of my video. But I think there is no people working face to face with customers, they leave it to the computer sistems. I bough from them some products on black Friday, then they told me via email that there were some out of stock items, and asked what to do. I told them via email to send me the available items, then they emailed me back to ask me what to do, It hapened aboout four times, so as I told you, think we are dealing with computers brother...

Lets see what happens...

Hey I might need help to asign the gyro switch on DX7( it is working in the throthle hold rc helicopters for lifech). But I will try again myself again.

Hey friend! I am happy to hear about your new bird. You will really like that heli! And what a good deal. I missed a deal like that myself and was upset for weeks. The long flight times are great! The only bad is the cost of fuel.

I have not been checking this thread much so I do apologize. I have been flying my TREX 600ESP almost everyday. I installed a Castle creations ICE 100 and running the new Thunder Power 45c lipos.
I also finished my TREX 700 Limited Edition and have a gallon and a half through it. I really enjoy the nitro helis, im sure you will too!

I have not heard anything from Xheli and doubt I will. I have some very good footage with my 700 and my flying is starting to look pretty good. I have contact info through youtube. I have a CENCAL Helis group on Helifreak, and I am also a RunRyder member. Keep in touch. Wish you many great flights with your new heli!

What you may need are Test pilots with limited experience -
Novice opinions on the various heli's available for beginners -
So far the only videos available are showing these models being flown by experts -
Some have also been tricked out - but none ever being flown by an actual novice
How about getting opinons from the novice viewpoint  :Huh??
The novice who sticks with it, becomes the expert -
Experts generally purchase more heli's and higher priced ones - good for business  :Huh??
The novice that gets discouraged because they can not fly like the pilot in the video, tend to drop the hobby - bad for business
Sort of like showing a weight loss exercise video using all skinny people -
Sure will want to make that over weight person want to jump right in and excercise right along side of them

Good point tailheavy.

But the only problem with having novices review things is that in my experiance, you need LOTS of novice reviews. Some novices will give up on ANYTHING that even remotely difficult or not straight forward like a crayon.

When we field new equipment at my work with new user interface we have to put it to the test with like 50 people who have never used it till we know how intuative it is.
One of the reasons companies often have experianced people review the product is because they can draw on their knowlege and past experiance with other products to compare it with.  I know myself, when someone shows up at my field or a local fun fly with stuff I've never seen, I spend alot of my own time learning about it, maybe flying it and asking them of their opinion. That boost my knowledge and experiance to help me compare other products to it.

I can go on and on about good design practices and review process but in my experiance as a Product design engineer for over 20+ years, I get more feedback and usefull information from people with experiance than the novices.

I agree that often times, a reviewer will fly a heli WAY beyond the capability of the purchaser but that tends to be what the purchaser wants to know, "what can it do when I'm ready for it".  I know 3DT can fly the blueray way beyond what he's shown based on his other vids I've seen but he did keep it straight forwards in his vid. And I know from my own experiance w/ the Blueray or EXI 450, the heli can do that all stock.

Maybe the best of both worlds

Have an expert set it up - test fly it - make sure is works and give an opinion -
Then hand the same heli off to a novice under the supervision of the Pro, to test fly it

I have learned from + 30 years of flying fixed wings that Pro's tend to forget after a few years what it was like to be a novice .. what might seem like a simple thing to them, might not to the person just starting out

Just a thought ..

I had this Exceed eagle 50 for over a month now, still haven't flown it yet. When I receive it,the dip  switches plate was open on the back of the(WK-2601) Exceed 2.4 Ghz tx (properly Canada custom).I noticed the pitch, aileron & elevator servos were all messed up by the incorrect 12 dip switches setting.
will you please check the 12 dip switches setting for the eagle 50

Oye chicooo!!!
