Got a 450 with a 40A Pentium. After a couple of minutes the power
cuts . After a while the cuts are frequent. The ESC  and motor are not hot, not even warm.

It could be the timing or that you have the governor mode enabled. If gov is on, turn it off and if the timing isn't on low, set it there. Fly near the ground for 1 minute then check temps before continuing. IF you don't know how to program it, check this place

Seems easier when I look when it is explained.
So, now how do I cut off the gov, if there is one.
Like I said, got a 40A Pentium.
Thanks, much appreciated

See that link i posted above, click that and you got your choice, read or watch the videos at the bottom.

The pentium esc is a remarked exceed, follow those instructions. One word of warning though, when you select a change, it is going to beep, beep then if the throttle is still on at all, it is going to power up so do it without the prop or blades attached

I looked at both vids, no mention of gov, that's why I asked.
Will give it a go as soon as my Tx batterie is charged.

I'm finished Radd's lessons. I'm gliding along in the basement.
It's winter here so can't go outside.
But I can say this ; problem solved man. No more loss of power.
When for 2 packs, esc and motor were at room temperature.
Thanks a lot.

And that was the timing moved to low, correct?

I realized the gov thing when you said you couldn't find it. If you buy the $7 programing card and use it on the esc you have, it has the gov mode option and when that is on, it runs weird. So without the card, you couldn't have turned that part on.

I thought the HW pentium does not have gov does it?
Also make sure it's in Lipo  mode.
see all those suggested settings listed on that page

the esc doesn't, but the programming card does, and lets you turn it on and off. Whatever that is changing in the esc isn't good, cause it'll fly fine for a while then studder till it's changed. Did it once

There is one thing I'd like to add.
After following the directions to program the esc. I wanted to exit the
program ; 2 short beeps to enable exit. But it didn't, instead ; 2 long beeps, 1 short /  2 long beeps, 2 short / 2 long, 3 short and then 3 long beeps, 1 short / 3 long, 2 short only after those came the 2 beeps to exit, weird. I had it come around 3 times to make sure that what I
was hearing was right. I had the same motor a 3900kv and esc on a HBK2 before installing them on the 450,and I never heard those tones before. Anyway may order the programming card if the esc acts up in the future.
Thanks again.
Later.
