i just put a balloon around my receiver and it really works.  i have driven it through water and its still running. (i have the dynamite.) one question sometimes when i run it it just all of a sudden stops. and i have to turn the car off and press down on the wires and crystal in the balloon. then it works again. i don't want to have to do this every time i run it. is there any way to fix this or does any one know what is causing it. it doesn't happen all the time but sometimes.

Do you have to put a balloon around the Novatech 75A ESC if you use it in water?

tape what down.
If it started to stop then your esc might have some water already inside.. What did you think you will only cover your receiver but not the other electronics?? lol

your servo is not even watertight in that car. Anything with a wire going to it should be waterproofed, the best you can.

Liquid eletrical tape can work wonders for this.

Everytime you get it wet, even if it starts working again you are probably doing long term damage. Water when it evaporates leaves behind residue. Esp the water with mud and what not you are driving through. Soon it will be enough to short the fets and your esc is toast. Or your rx, or whatever, and if one goes it can drag the rest down with it, and all of a sudden you need ALL new electronics.
I even go as far as to waterproof my batteries. LIPOS are not waterproof and can puff up if they get wet..
I wouldnt try it, but I almost bet I could drive mine underwater. I hose it off with the shower everytime I am done with it..

I drove mine the other day.

There was small puddles by the sidewalk and I flew into it.

Some droplets got on my esc.

Would that be enough to damage it?

Hard to say. did the water get inside?

I wouldnt worry too much but try and waterproof it. Escs are tough don't overheat it.

Like I say you are probably alright.. The only way to make it waterproof is to open it up and do the board seperate from the rest...
