I am using this motor for a demo and trying to get more info.  I sent an email then was followed up with please call the number.  I called yesterday got a voice mail after waiting no call back.  Today I called again been on hold for 2 hours.  Maybe someone else can help out.  I need the following info so I can run the motor.
Resistance of single phase
Inductance of single phase
Number of Pole Pairs
The rest I got from the data sheet with the RPM/V of 400

it has 12 poles. The rest is too technical for me. Probably more info than they even know

here is what it sounds like on 22 volts

that is a 11 lbs helicopter, 60 amp esc, 6s 30c 4,000mah lipo, 8 minute flights

Thank you for taking the time.  I am getting closer to getting it running.  Have it going for 15 seconds but have to fix my circuit (over heating right now.)  Cant wait Till I can make the motor sound like your helicopter.  Very cool.  Makes me want to start a new hobby.

so you already have it? I have a volt meter but would need a ful walkthrogh on what your after if you don't have it yet.

IF you are running it, what does it run off of? What is it going to do? They really scream, howls like a turbine and at the full 2000 watts, is some power

Mine does like to get hot under load. But once i got it to quit overloading (gearing) it screams. Here is what it sounded like when it got hot

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HP2xpxjVHr8" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HP2xpxjVHr8</a>

you hear it load up just before leaving the ground and it was drawing 52 amps in hover, little high. Wants a constant 40 with bursts to 55 for no longer than 10 seconds

I am using an Infineon Micro controller to run it with a 3 phase 1/2 bridge controller.  I cant disclose what the end equipment is but will not be RC related.  The motor will be geared down to drive the end unit.

I have had it running under control but was heating up the circuit till the solder was wet again.  I keep getting closer but must say this is  a hard motor to get under control being the resistance is so low.  It is good to know it does want to see 40 Amps.  Think I am close but was limiting the current to 10 amps.  I Will up the current limit and see how it goes.  Worse thing that will happen is I let the smoke out Smiley.

Did ya get a handle on this yet? If not, i am trying to understand a little more about your requirements of the motor. Are you able to give it the full 25.2 - 29.4 volts? if not, is it cause were spinning too slow or too fast? Is it possible to re-gear?

The volcano 60 amp esc works perfect on this motor at $30 might be what it needs at 25.2 volts

http://www.hobbypartz.com/volcano-series-60a-brushless-esc1.html

It'll even do quarter throttle, half throttle, etc. all day long without too much load. They like to spin wide open though with all the load placed on it

If you need any parts, lemme know. I got one that is brand new and my dad got a piece of metal stuck and turned it cutting one winding. Brand new barrel, brand new shafts and bearings. Never ran. That's how my dad rolls

your friend in hoping you figure it out

I can get it to run with Trapezoidal control without any problems at all. It looks like most ESCs work using Trapezoidal control. I am working to get it under control using Field Oriented control.  More efficient more torque and more accurate speed control.  I blew up the board I had last week, so today I should have a new one.  down to the final tweaks.  Will let you know once it is up and running.  Might make me want to build my own helli

Finally have it working to 90%.  only final tweaks left once it settles in motor is a lot more quite then doing Trap control.  Thanks for the help.  Maybe I will create my own controller for a heli as a new hobby.
