We all know that we can get some of the best prices at Hobby Partz. But is it worth it? With the number of times the item you set your heart on is suddenly out of stock etc etc.

How do you all feel about it. Should Hobby Partz invest in a better system and improve customer service (perhaps causing a slight increase in prices) or is their way of doing things working just fine, considering it's so cheap, and should be left alone?

Let everyone (and Hobby Partz) know how you feel.

Haven't had any bad experiences with Hobby Partz or affiliate companies! If they don't have what I need, I find it somwhere else. Everything else I have recieved from them has always been shipped quickly, and nothing defective yet!

We have already have a meeting with the inventory manage regarding this. Every time if the inventory of certain items falls below, lets say 30 pcs or so, we'll put it out of stock anyways so that we do not have customer thats order it and ends up being sold out.

Andy, that's a great idea and will help.  I've tried 2 orders with hobbypartz so far.  My first one was similar to what others have reported.  I ordered an item that showed it was in stock, received a shipping confirmation, then received another email saying it would be out of stock for 2 to 4 weeks.  I tried calling and emailing to arrange a replacement or refund, and it took considerable effort to finally get the order cancelled.  I tried a second order after that, and everything went smoothly and was delivered very quickly.  The 2nd order was fantastic and I will certainly order again, particularly now that I know you have put a system in place to prevent these after-the-fact out of stock problems.  However, in the long term, you would be much better served by a realtime inventory system on your website so that the inventory on the website was current.

 Hobbypartz is by far the best resource in The U.S. for ordering supplies that I use. Obviously they have great prices and cannot keep up with some of the demand because of this. 3 day delivery for me is outstanding, I have not experienced ordering something out of stock but I had a hard time trying for support until Andy resolved it and understand the frustration when you are just waiting. Hobbypartz has my business as my first choice.

From all the posts I've read over the past months the #1 think I think you need to address is packaging.Even if you wrap things in newspaper, there are too many shippments being shipped without wraping.
Myself, I've NEVER had anything damaged in shipping.
I've had one tail shaft on a metal tail upgrade that was bent but since it was in a 2nd box, that had to have been done by the factory.

Yes I agree. All the lipo batteries we ship out are bubble padded so that it will not arrived damaged. We use bubble wrap on parts as well.

all i know is if you have a problem its best to get in the forum and send andy a note in support... and it gets done ...
in the last 6 months i have gotten 6 rc cars from nitrorcx.. a heli from hobbypartz and a ton of parts lol.. and 3 heli's from xheli ... about 8 toki motors and a bunch of replacement parts for the cars and helis.. and never really had any problems... i did have to send back 1 steering servo but andy knocked that out quick Smiley
