Hello everyone,
I am currently looking for a new servo, I know what torque and speed I need it's just that there are so many servos out there. I could make a decision myself but it never hurts to get other people's opinions.
I have looked at alot of servos from hitec, sanwa, airtronics, futaba, jr and others. I am looking for more of a high end one as I know from seeing other people's problems and having my own that I don't want to mess around with cheaper servos.
As I said the application will be a 1/8th buggy. Probably something that rates about 9kg (140oz) or more and a transite speed faster than 0.20, as I am not that fussy about speed. So throw some suggestions at me. Could spend up to $120 but don't let the price limit the suggestions I just wanna hear what servos people have had good experience with.
I could have listed all the types and everything I have looked at but I don't want this post to go on for ages. So just give me some suggestions.
Thanks to all who help. Smiley

Hobao Hyper 8.5 Pro is great but hyper 21 8 port, has a scratch in the sleeve; not the piston, the sleeve. Looks like I need a new engine...man is this hobby expensive or what, especially when racing:)

hitech 7955 tg servo is great  110 bucks with a .12 or so transit rating and 300 oz of torque a bit over kill for buggies .20 seconds is ok still  for steering its not as important as throttle 100 plus oz in throttle with a .16  or below  transit
steering no higher the .20  anything above that and you got a boat amain and tower got great servo choices also on rc univers theres a 250 oz servo with full metal gears for 40 bucks with a .13 transit

Hello,
Thanks for the suggestions zeo 1, very much appreciated. Hey frozenshade you have a hyper 7 what servos do you use, I have read a fair few posts where you have stated what servos you are running, but I can't really be bothered to try and find them, sorry. Is there anyone else, that can throw some suggestions at me. Any suggestions of any high end servos, would be great.
Thanks, Nick. Smiley

I've got a Hitec-965MG and a Futaba S9452 digital.  Both have worked well so for but, I also must second Zeo's statement that the Hitec 7955TG pretty much can't be beat for the price.  It's bomb proof.

If you put the 7955 on the steering and a 965 (or something comparable to it) on the throttle, you'd have an excellent set-up.  Both are strong servos and the response times would be excellent.

Also, what Zeo did not mention is that Hitec sells all their servos with a two year warranty, so if anything goes wrong send it in and they'll fix it for free.  Just make sure you save the receipt!
