I would not recommend any of those planes for a first "real" plane.

If you have not already, read through this thread.

http://www.rcdiscuss.com/index.php/topic,14114.0.html

It has some good information and suggestions for a beginner in RC planes.

Thanks! i did but i'm looking to buy one plane for a while. when i mean "real" plane i mean full function I've flew 3 channels before. i really just want a war bird type of plane are you sure that all those are too much?

seeing that i'll take the Do-335 Dornier and the p-51 off the list. they seem much more advanced. I've been looking into all and found that the corsair is much more produced therefore has more reviews and videos so do you think that is too much.

EDIT- OK i forgot to say that the corsair comes with a 4 channel "training kit" not sure if that would influence your opinion.

Welcome to the forum danmanlott

Here is is one of the easiest planes to fly due to its' dihedral high wing design:

http://www.nitroplanes.com/j3pipercub.html

There is a military version with straight wing making it harder to master.

http://www.nitroplanes.com/3mij3picubra.html

unfortunately they are currently both out of stock. You can check Nutcaz'z instruction
video on the j3 piper cub on this forum.

Thank you guys so much on this forum before this i was going to buy either a A-10 or a mig 15 but in these forums I've seen that they have a very low life span. and thank you DLAN for those two planes. it looks like a truly good trainer but i found this under the description of the corsair.

"Perfect Low-Wing Trainer!
True Classic Trainer of All Time!
Constructed with Super Tough, lightweight EPO material!
Shock Resistant Reinforced fuselage and Strong Wings
Super stable for beginner, Super low speed for safety, Super low altitude for fun
Easy to Fly, Easy to Control, Super stable for beginner
Slow Speed Flying Capable, Good for Beginner
Suitable for both beginners and experienced pilots"

it looks like a good trainer too just low wing. i may seem pushy about this but i really like this plane, but if you think its too much i'll get the military piper.

and about the battery i've found out how to buy a new one but it i wanted to upgrade which is changed voltage or MAh? this is an example battery i found.
9.6V 650mah Ni-MH

Well if money weren't an object I'd say get both, but since it is....

You have to take the claims made in those ads with a grain of salt.
Most of the write ups on these planes say how easy they are to fly,
no matter what configuration they are in and not beginner friendly.

Some like the stock brushed A-10 can hardly get off the ground it is so
underpowered. I, like you wanted this plane very much or the P 51D,
I like the Corsair too, but opted to take the advice of more experienced
rc pilots.

In regard to batteries, I would upgrade to lipos. You could easily switch over
to 7.4v lipo, getting higher mah and lighter weight, resulting in more flight
time. I made an adapter to use lipo so I could switch back and forth between
the 2 battery types, but most guys would just change connectors on their
planes and never look at nimh  batts again. I have been using 7.4v, 1000 to
1500 mah 15c batteries replacing the original 8.4v nimh. I did this on a heli also,
but went from 9.6 nimh to 11.1 lipo. The performance difference was
outstanding but you have to make sure your electronics can handle higher
voltage.  Personally I think anything that can handle 9.6 should be able to handle
11.1, but I may be wrong.

the real reason i want the corsair is because it has reviews. about 5 years ago i bought a $100 one out of a magazine. one of those magazines with really bad stuff that is getting rid of stuff because no one will buy it. it was the most expensive thing i bought (except for my laptop) and it was so bad it wouldn't even taxi on the ground let alone fly. so i really am not willing to make a very big leap of faith.

thanks i will get the corsair on black Friday even it is just as good discount as now (10%) but my big brother and i are going and one stop is my hobby shop so unless i go there and find a better plane at a better price (99.9% they won't) I'd get that.

on another note while i am there i am getting a good RC plane glue is there anything else i should get. it's a big hobby store they probably have anything you think of.

I think you and I both really wanted that A-10 DLAN.

I, like you, took the advice of others and have thoroughly enjoyed the last year.

LOL Grin. I had forgot all about that thread Tony! I did go with the j3 piper cub
Thanks for the trip back down memory lane.

To tell you the truth, I was just recently checking out the brushless version of
that A-10 Roll Eyes
