I WAS in the same boat as you-- nitro prop warbirds for 20 years. I did some research, and my opinion is the A-10. Just got it actually. One of the slowest on the market, massive wing surface area for a low stall speed. Plus if you have a motor give up the ghost, you still have one left to guide your bird in if it's still in one piece. I've read that a EDF malfunction can turn a plane into styrofoam peanuts in a blink of an eye....

upon reading reviews on various edf planes,i am going with a single brushless type, most reviews read the old version motors are poorly powered, and tend to burn out quickly, from what i've read 5-10 flights, but also i have seen no reviews on life span of brushless...looks like niroplanes carries a full range of brushless single edf's,so before i decide, any input would be appreciated   oldguy

If considering the A-10 make sure it is the brushless version, and even though this planes are called 4 channel, there is no rudder control.

The 4th channel  for the a-10 is the steerable nose wheel, won't help much in cross-wind landings  oldguy

In response to oldguys post on motors, brushless motors have up to if not more then a 100 use life span provided they are good motors that and they are power hogs, most manufactures of Brushles motors even recommend lipos over anything else, although now just about any electric rc vehicle uses them due to lower costs.

If you pull up my other youtube videos you'll see I have numerous EDFs. This Flying Shark is the easiest to fly,,even compared to the A-10. It's the cheapest too. Good slow stall speed and handles great. Only draw back is that it is only 3 channel,,,no nose wheel steering or rudder. It's a tail-dragger so taking off from grass needs a long runnout but the landings are short and the plane is extremely light,,it can take a minor dump pretty well. I put a little fiber glass tape and epoxy resisn on the nose and the chin to beef it up a little,,,you can dump it on it's nose in the grass with no damage. I have snow-skis on it right now.

It comes with a 3S 1300mAh battery but that only gets about 3 minutes of flight,,if that. It handles a 3S 2200mAh 25C battery very well. It handles slow flight well and actually jets along pretty fast.

For a beginner EDF,,this is my recommendation. Looks very kool.
