I see that EXI is selling 250 size heli on their site and it appears to be a carbon frame and all metal parts,  Huh?(looking at the pics posted) very nice at a great price! But are you really getting what you see or is it just a cheap plastic kit that you have to upgrade to all metal?

It's a Trex 250 clone.
Metal head/tail and CF frames.
You get what you see.

a 250 helis (EXI or Trex) is not for the faint of heart or for beginners.
It's actually MORE work to set up and tune a 250 than a 450.

Well, I had to know cause it is a great looking heli, something I could play around with this winter in the gym, so I call them (EXI) today and asked if the heli had cnc head and tail and they told me plastic. So now I don't know what to think, for that price and the parts are cheap. Does anybody have one and would like to share their thoughts.

The $67 EXI 250 is definitly metal head & tail and CF frames.
I have one.  I'm working on some vids that should be up in a day or so.
There is a dynam 250 that is plastic frames and metal head which McKraken has one that he's talked about here on rcdiscuss.  The dynam Razor is an RTF unit with everything including computer radio (72mhz).

I talked to a friend who called (EXI) and he said the person he talked to said that it was definitely metal head and tail, carbon fiber frame, so great! I'm gonna give it a whirl.  Grin

This isn't your first heli is it?

I hope the gym is not too small.

No, I have T-rex600 nitro, T450se and Protos 500. I'm working my way down in size, lol. So now I've got to decide what to equip this 250 with, I hate to think what it's gonna cost me before it's said and done.

I belong to local club and during the winter months we hold our club meetings at a church here in town. This church is a large organization with a school and three gyms, large, medium and small. After the meetings we sometimes use one of the gyms. I've flown my Protos a few times, most of the time I fly the 450, of coarse we are limited as to what we can do, but it's better than nothing. We also fly foamies and such.
