i have a brushless motor that draws 30A max cont. 330W 4050kv motor. im looking to get into flying planes the motor is on my 450 heli. im wondering how big of plane i can fly with this motor? can i run it direct or do i need a gearbox?

I bought a Super Trainer 60 ARF. Now I need to make it a READY-TO-FLY plane. Pls inform me what do I have to purchase. An Engine. A radio. Propeller, servos (how may ) what else?

i have found out that heli motors turn backwards from plane motors because of the gearing so you will need a gear box

If it is a brushless motor then you can make it turn which ever way you want. Some brushed motors can only turn in one direction though.

thats the other way around if you change the polarity on a brushless motor i beleave you will have a piece of crap left but by all means give it a try

huh Huh? You don't change polarity of anything to change rotation on a brushless motor. There are 3 wires coming from the motor to the ESC, if you swap the connection of any two of these wires the rotation of the motor will change. Don't need to "give it a try"... I have done it many, many times.

i beleave you are right tony you can do that on a brushless motor you can change the polarity on a brushed motor to but if you change the wires on a brushless motor be very careful one wrong wire will burn up the esc
