Falcon 400 does not have a tail drive belt...It has a gear driven tail, From my limited exp. on the falcon I have found that any contact with tail causes the carbon drive shaft to snap and loose ethier the front or rear drive gear. Had to replace mine every crash no matter how slight.

grummpy,  you are right, falcon400 is shaft driven like the shogun v1, I mistaken it as a shogun v2.

This happened to me on my HBK2 belt heli. The set screw in the tail blade holder was loose so when I tightened it it helped somewhat. The main thing I found later was the pitch on the main blades was'nt set right so the heli flew without enough head speed so the tail wasn't rotating fast enough to give it the proper push.
Maybe this helps, Lorne

What's your altitude problem?

Don't know about all the talk here, but my falcon 3D 400 has a gear driven tail. It is impossible for it to spin backward if it is put together properly. The possible reasons are as follows:

one way bearing in upside-down/rotor would also spin wrong way

Tail blades are improperly installed making it look like they are spinning backward

Tail grips are improperly installed - ball end of grip trailing instead of leading.

Good Luck!

well thx for all the replies, got the problem fixed and was flying the other day and the feathering shaft broke mid flight about 50 feet up

needless to say i striped it for parts and ordered a Blue Ray (was never happy with the falcon 400 anyway)
