If what you have is a FM, then you can set up your heil to meet your needs.
that is what I found when I got mine. Roll Eyes

To determine if it will help your flying it depends on what Tx you have right now.

anything thats programmable, not necessarily a lot of money. The DX6i is a computer radio

Only if you put "Align" stickers on it.  Oh, and if you get an Align pitch gauge, your blades will never go out of track.  Heck, if you put Align blades on the heli and put TREX decals on the canopy, you can go inside and watch the heli do 3D all by itself.

But no, sadly, Spektrum won't make you fly better.  It will, however, make setup much easier and "RF Interference Anxiety" much less.  But any decent 2.4GHz system will do that.  That said, don't bother with the DX5.  It's not programmable at all.  DX6i (post recalls) and DX7 are the Spektrums you want.

If you have the RTF 450's then yes it will (somewhat) if you use Expo's to soften the stick response. You will be spending about $200 USD for a Spektrum DX6i with a AR6200 Rx (combo kit). It is not compatible with the exceed radio setup. PCM vs DSM2. Otherwise a simulator is the best bet. Stick with a radio you will us eon all your birds since you will become accustomed to how it handles (sticks).
