Hello,

We recently purchased this helicopter for my son:  http://www.xheli.com/4chrcblharac.html

It is the Colco UH-1 Black Hawk 4-channel.  We have followed the instructions exactly (throttle and trim at lowest position, etc.) and the helicopter will not take off.  It doesn't respond to the transmitter at all actually.  We have charged the battery.  It says to wait until there are 3 green lights to have a full charge...only 2 green lights ever come on no matter how long it is plugged in.

Then, the minute the battery is connected to the helicopter the propellers start rotating, not fast enough to take off, probably half speed.  It does this whether the transmitter is on or off first.

It doesn't matter what you do with the throttle, the propellers never speed up enough to take off.

We are very, very new to this so any help that you can provide would be appreciated!!

Thanks!

I also bought the UH-1 co-axial (HUEY). I would suggest checking the voltage on your battery with a volt meter. A fully charged 7.4 800mAh 2-cell Li-Po battery should have around 8 - 8.2 volts. Check to see what you get.   JOE

I had a Colco Blackhawk and the Transmiter is always turned on first then plug the Heli battery and you should have connnection after a few seconds.  Wink My battery was 7.4 V and 1000 Ma but I also flew it with a 800 Ma battery. Grin
It seems like you have over discharged the battery (easy to check with a digital battery meter) lowest charge for a 7.4 V = 6 V (suggest to never go bellow 6.4 V); fully charged it should be + 8.0 Volts.
If any 7.4 V Lipo battery shows less than 7.8 Volts after a complete charge then likely 1 or both batteries have less than 3.4 volts and are swollen.

Try with a new fully charged Lipo battery.
