I am having serious under-powering issues with my A-10 from Nitroplanes.com even replacing the NIMH battery with a 11.1V LIPO with the two existing 55mm brushed engines.  We are afraid to hand launch it and it does not have the apparent ground speed to get off the ground...

Now that Nitroplanes is offering a brushed motor/LIPO version can I purchase just the battery and motor upgrades from Nitroplanes?  Do I also need a new ESC and/or BEC??

Are others having these under-powering issues with the stock/original A-10???

Thanks,
David

I was having the same problem, couldn't get my A-10 off the ground.  Now I can't get the engine to start.  I have replaced the radio reciever and the brush controllers.  Still nothing.  Sure would appreciate some helpful suggestions.

I am new to NitroPlanes products, but I have quick response with customer support.  I purchased an A10, brushed, flew it 1 and 1/2 flights.  First flight was awesome...ran at 1/2 to 3/4 throttle for quite a while.  Landed and ordered extra batteries the next week.  went out and flew it the next week and the motors quit.  not a deadstick, but not power to the motors at all.  checked the speed controller, seemed to be outputing, but nothing out of the motors...called, they sent a speed controller and two motors.  the motors seemed to be take from another plane, one worked and the other didn't.  interesting that no matter how I hooked up the motors only the left hand motor would turn..

I too am having a very large problem getting my A10off the ground. I put a 2200mah lipo 11.1 volt in it and no difference.I really think nitroplanes should do something ro correct this problem.

We're all newbies on this thread, here's a bit of wisdom. The brushed A-10 comes stock with JUST WHAT IT NEEDS to stay airborn. Plus, we're talking about the Warthog, not an F-16. It's supposed to be sluggish. I talked to John briefly today about upgrading the A-10, he said they are getting  upgraded EDF nacelles in January with the brushless motors and I believe a larger fan to boot.
Keep this in mind, guys. Nitroplanes.com is a DISTRIBUTOR, not a manufacturer. They sell the planes, they have nothing to do with equipping the airframes with electronics or motors. You can't blame the distributor for what was put into the box in China any more than you can blame Ronald McDonald for George Bush getting elected. Twice......
If you have faulty equipment, contact nitroplanes. If you can't figure out how to get working equipment to work, read up on some forums (not just here, there's many others!), or even better-- contact your local model aircraft club and find an EXPERIENCED flier to show you how to get your bird up!
dted-- you could possibly have a bad transmitter. Go FUTABA if you can. The TX that the A-10 comes with is about as generic as you can get.
