Hi Guys,
I got a Exceed G2 CNC Edition i think wed. Flew it in the garage a few times then took it outside yesterday. Needless to say a magical gust of wind came from nowhere and slammed my beautiful bird into the bushes. So i took it apart and cleaned it up. But it flew right after the crash. I charged up the batteries again to double check and now it seems like the tail servo gets stuck. I hear the gyro making adjustments but it never brings the servo back to center. So if i spin up the heli and press left for the tail rotor it spins forever like that till i manually press the joystick to the right... then it will continue that direction. I dont hear any grinding of the servo either when its off and i press left to right. any ideas? Huh?

Some serious forcess could have been exerted on the servo you are unaware of. Unplug the servo from gyro, plug it directly into rudder slot on rx. Is it still reacting the same way?

When i unplug the gyro and directly plug in the servo it is adjustable to get it to stop spinning and seems to autocenter. Ill have to look over the gyro or is there some other setup i should be doing in order to make sure its centered?

I'm not sure what you mean hear!

Yes. Take the screw out of servo horn, and remove arm. With a fin poin marker, put a line top center on the servo horn, where the arm goes. While still plugged into rx, initialize and cycle servo back and forward. Pay close attention to mark as you do this. Does servo travel same amount in both directions? Does servo horn return to same spot from both directions?

Ok So i did what you said but have been terribly busy with work. I bought 3 new servos a new Gyro and tail fins(cause it had a scuff and they are dirt cheap). Installed new Servo in back did the setup where its 90 degrees up. When i plug the gyro in it torques it forward i would say 45 degrees towards the front of the bird.

Problem still exsists the same with new Gyro and Servo though. It wont correct or hold steady it just spins. Im not sure if im missing a step. I think my problem is I shoudl have left the cap off the horn when the gyro is plugged in then shut it off and then point it 90degrees up. Please let me know any input on this. Thanks.!

Yes you will initialize servo with arm off first, especially if it's new.

Some of the guys here like to set their tail servo with gyro out of the loop first. They plugservo directly into rx and attain good servo/tail adjustment fo hover. They then plug servo to gyro and make fine tunes to gyro!

hmm wierd. something else must be broken. i setup and resetup the servo according to instructions and online materials. How can i tell if its the reveiver? i guess i need to setup a pivoting table to setup everything on unless you guys have a better idea.

Im getting closer i fixed 4 other things that were bent and got a lazy susan to flip upside down for my pivot piece. tapped it down to setup the tail servo. then hooked up the gyro when i got it close. for some reason the knob by the 3d switch was the gain when programming it and not the left one... so that was throwing me off alot. I ahve to have the gain very low to get it to stop wagging... from overcorrection. Should i be putting a longer/shorter delay on the gyro? I guess its just messing around another 3 batteries worth and it will be ready to fly again. Thanks for all your help and if you have any other pointers let me know i always welcome ideas.

Most likely the tail servo is not fast enough for the Gyro thus the wagging tail, you can minimize by moving the ball in one hole on the servo arm. The stock servo's have plastic gears in them and they strip, so check that as well.

wagging is caused because gyro gain is to hi.

ok you 1 stripped the servo gear 2 slide the rudder servro until the tail blades are stright but you must unplug the motor first
then set gyro to normal mode or heading hold off , then slide rudder servo until tail in straight and if you here clicking coming from the rudder servo then you killed the servo or the servo horn

I set em up just a little different. Old school, i guess. i'll give em just a little blow to the right if your looking at it from wc's video. I'll start off with something like attached then either lengthen or shorten my tail rod or move the servo forward or back to get it flying straight w/o gyro. It really only spins when i rev it u or let way off the throttle, then i put the gyro on that. It is super consitant not relying so much on electronics.

i see why you guys like nice gyros
