I found out with the help of the Orange 3 Axis Stabilizer in the plane, and the 6 Axis in the 450 that I could indeed fly in wind! This was my first attempt at flight in conditions other than dead-calm!
Also found out me and Sonny Boy aren't the only ones flying at said soccer field! While walking back to the car, I spied a broken Dynam Propeller lying on the ground...hmm...wonder who it could be??

i look back to the begining were i didnt know anything had poor equipment didnt know how to charge batts didnt no how to figure out flight time. i burned up lipos like they were nitro fuel i crashed literaly every flight.

jump forward 3 or 4 years. i have a good radio have good batts and charger tons of dedicated rc tools and even a few computer programs. i have a sim(rarely fly it now) and things just work if i build a heli it flys and flies pretty well if i build a plane it seems to do the same, dont crash on maidens anymore.

but im now in the the area where dumb will crash me and has. so pretty much at either end of the spectrumn we crash. but it seems crashes are now spred out by months and even sometimes years.

i recently just just put together a literaly 20 dollar plane a f22 cut out of phone. freind of mine atualy built the airframe. and man i think its just as much fun to fly as my 1200 dollar helicopter . a few years ago i wouldnt have touched a cheesy looking home brew bird with a ten foot stick because it just isnt cool. turns out its realy freaking cool

Just a little frustrating seeing how many people read the post and didn't reply.

YAY! I won the bid on the Compass Knight .50 I was bidding on, on ebay, so pretty soon I'll be starting this build. I comes complete except for the three cyclic servos and a muffler. Comes with the JR G7000T Extreme Tail Lock Ring Gyro with 8700G Gyro servo for the tail servo. A YS50ST .50 motor and does come with blades as well, but I have a bid on a set of 550 KBDD blades for it. I also have a bid right now on an Align 3GX FBL system for it so that I don't have to get a separate governor for the Nitro engine. Plus get the stabilization of the 3GX gyro. Haven't quite decided on which FBL head I am going to use yet though. Whether to go with a DFC head or a normal FBL head or even a multi-blade head since I will be installing an MD-500 fuselage on it.

Hey all. My LA40 engine is blowing oil/fuel out through the exhaust. I can get it running smooth and idle fine. It just seems like it's blowing a lot of fuel/oil out through the exhaust. This may be normal so that's why I'm asking. The side of the plane (Hobbico Superstar) get pretty covered. Just asking if this is normal or do I need to do some extra fine tuning. Thanks Larry

George "The Possum" Jones passed away this morning in a hospital in Nashville, Tenn. at the age of 81. He will be greatly missed by many people. I know alot of us here in the forum are of the older generation and probably listen to country music. He was one of the best and will always be considered a legend in my book.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends in this great time of sorrow. And in the loss of a great man!

RIP George you will be greatly missed!

I was wondering if someone could tell me what the factory settings are for a LA40 engine. The engine I have is used and both screws were turned all the way in. I'm guessing the one closest to the fuel line regulates fuel and the other is air/fuel mixture. If they are all the way in how many turns out do I need to go to get the set close to startup? Thanks. Larry

I got an email from Hobbypartz that the batteries I need were in stock. So I ordered six of them. Now I get another email stating they are out of stock. WTF is going on with this company. I don't know how they even make payroll at all. I see they have taken the phone lines down and the live chat is off line all the time now. are you down sizing because you don't know how to run this company or what. I want to know should I waste my time on trying to get batteries or any RC parts of any kind from you. I know there are other companies on line but this is the one that has the battery ends I use and I really don't want to have to change ends on the plane or the batteries so I can fly. I want an answer from Hobby partz are to what is going on. I have heard all the BS answers from you , that customs is holding up the shipment or the manufactures are not working because of a chinese holiday. a holiday that lasts six months is quite a holiday.or just plain nothing. the customs one is the one that gets me, if this is true than how does wal mart always have an endless supply of chinese crap to sell every day. I'm willing to come down and show you how to run a company if needed. I can't do any worse than you are doing right now.
