Hi, I bought an E Razor 250 and it came with striped out little bolts that fasten the main shaft into place. Just a little help if anyone else comes across this problem. I was able to get them partially out. What I did is took some Nail Clippers and snipped on to one of the edges and spun it out perfectly. Just wanted to post this because I though I was in a whole mess of trouble with a bent Main Shaft and no way to remove it. If you can't get any of the threads out you can always drill out the little tiny bolt and this will work just as well.
Best of luck not getting a Unit without striped out Allen Threads..

My hangar contains 6 planes flying, 2 retired (the micros me and Sonny Boy learned on), a whole slew of parts for just about all of them. I have as much fun flying my Planks as I do my Helicopters, only drawback to the planes is you need a larger area to fly, Helicopters you bring just about anywhere. Is it possible to have too many aircraft? I really don't think so...

I have an old A stamp RC10 that I'm working on getting driving again. I used to asphalt oval race it at a local track with 13 turn modified and Raceprep stock motor with a 104 tooth 64 pitch spur gear. Since the pro line dirt hawgs I'm using will be significantly bigger than the foam tires I was running for racing I know my gearing will need to change. My question though is what's highest rollout ratio that can be hit with the Hobbywing ez-run 13 turn brushless combo? I'd like to keep the 104 tooth spur gear since it's fairly stout and stood up to the 13 turn modified abuse for multiple racing seasons and finding RC10 spur gears might be fairly difficult for a 26 year old car but going to say a 24 tooth pinion would give me a rollout ratio of 1.6 which I'm wondering if that would cause the 13 turn hobbywing to burn up. I'm thinking to prevent immediately grenading the tranny I'll turn punch down to it's lowest setting. Below are the RC speed calculator numbers.

24 (20) tooth pinions

Pinion spur ratio 4.33 (5.2)
Total reduction ratio 7.93 (9.5)
Rollout 1.6 (1.3)
MPH ~38 (31)

Take it easy

I'd like to ask you flyers what you would suggest i get to replace oem powerhouse. I'm looking for motors and esc's but I wonder if all brushless motors are sold balanced or not. With all my efforts and the help I've gotten from the wonderful people here at rc discuss I cannot get rid of all vibrations. If it doesn't work try try again right? Ok, after that what? I have balance my motors, I have balanced my props, I distributed weight properly, and I have a gopro3 on a 2 axis gimbal and all day long my videos JUST SHAKE the entire length. So I'm grounded until I can make up my mind on what parts to get. I would like to just replace my problem, (a bad esc) but I will need to rework the wiring and solder bullet style connectors for each esc to receive motor bullets and there isn't a single bullet connector on my quad, the motors are soldered directly to the esc, I didn't do this but I must deal with it now that I have an issue.

Can anyone suggest a few motors and or esc'c to look at. I'll pay up to 50 bucks a motor if necessary, but I would like to save some money wherever I can. I have been eyeing the bulletproof and a few other esc's. I really don't know what I'm gettin into with the esc's, this is my first time having to.
Thanks

Hi, I just purchased a Dynam E Razor 250 and was needing to know some information about how tight the Main Gear should be against the Motor Gear. I've read that some people take a piece of news paper and determine it that way then tighten the motor screws backup with the news paper in between the Main Gear and the Gear to the Motor.
Should the Main Gear spin freely, because on mine the way it was shipped to me does not. It seems to be tight and from looking at the gear on the motor it looks like it is being worn. Any information on this subject on how tight the Main Gear should be against the Motor Gear would be much appreciated.

Long story short. 2 years ago my parents got me a WLtoys swift929 for my birthday. But i never got it. Because my dear dad decided he wanted to fly it before they gave it to me. This year for my birthday my mom gives me this rc helicopter and says sorry your dad broke it.. LOL.. figures right!..

Well anyways i took it apart and just so happens he broke one of the little plastic gears in half. I need to replace it but the only place i have found them are in china or something crazy far away.. does anyone know any place that sells these in the US or if there is another heli out there that uses the same gears that are more likely to be in the US.

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THESE GEARS WOULD FIT MY HELI?!?!?! (FOLLOW LINK PLZ!)

http://www.hobbypartz.com/28p-wlv757-09.html

and another problem is they don't know where the usb charger is... so the only way i can charge it is through the controller which will make me go broke going through batteries like that lol.. so does anyone know what kind of charger it uses and where i could get one?

I know this is asking a lot but
thanks!

I`ve mounted the V959 camera on 2 layers of Zeal and secured it with a strip of velcro (which just fits under the pcb) to see if I could improve the video quality . I am getting a lot less jello effect , even though I haven`t checked the balance of the props yet .

I also added 1 gram of Blu Tak to each boom and I think this has reduced some of the vibration in the video by making the quad less `twitchy` . I`ve had the best results when using the 60% setting on the tx..maybe when my flying improves I`ll get smoother flight on the higher settings .
Here are some pics that you requested Lauren..double click on the image to zoom in .

Ok guys so i want to buy this as my 1st rc heli - Hero RC H911 iRocket which i found here

http://www.xheli.com/28h-h911-irocket.html

Sadly its out of stock and will not be in stock for 2-4 weeks!!!!! i asked!!!!.. and then i have to wait 1-3 days before it gets shiped and up to another week before it gets to me.. I'm sorry if I'm coming off as impatient but ive wanted a rc heli for such a long time! I finally find one i want to buy and can buy and now this happens =(.

With that said I found a much simular heli on amazon but this kind of stricks me as odd just because it doesn't match up with what the "maker" of this heli has. anyways here is a link to that

http://www.amazon.com/Helizone-Light...ywords=wl+toys

And here is the link to helizone which is what amazon says that is but yet to me it looks like a H911 with a different paint job so to speak.

http://www.helizonerc.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=30

Any thoughts on this?

OK, so my son (8) has been flying a 3.5 channel for a while and seems to be getting pretty good.

I need to find him at least a 4 ch that is almost unbreakable. He mostly flies in the house but would like to fly outside.

What would your recommendation be for say something under $50 (maybe $100)?

I'd rather find him something in the 6 ch range but I don't think they make those that are unbreakable (regardless of the price).

Cheers

I have an option here I am weighing, I have a Solar D770 and D771 servos and am wondering which one to put where. The D771 has more Torque than the D770 but it's speed is .10 and the D770's speed is .09, I am wondering which one to put on the tail servo and which one to put on the throttle servo? I am thinking about putting the D771 on the tail because it does have the added torque that the D770 doesn't have, but at the same time, the 770 is .01 faster so I would be inclined to put that one on the tail. So what would you guys do?

It is a fantastic flyer, handles great.
Only one problem. It seemed to cut out on me after just under 5 minutes so I landed it and the battery and esc were so hot I could hardly touch them.
I was using a 11.1 v 2200 mAh battery, flying at half throttle.
Any suggestions.
I have heard that other people can get 6 to 8 min. with this plane.
Thanks.

I'm wondering... I see many helis in all of your signatures, from various companies, many of which do not have compatibility/interchangeability between their transmitters.

How many of you own multiple "nice" transmitters for each of the various types (Spektrum/JR, Devo, etc.)? Or do you have one nice TX for most of your helis, and bought the rest RTF?

I know the DX7s I have is a good solid TX for everything it can be used with. How many other "standards" are there? I assume Walkera's Devo is another... is there a third, fourth, etc.? Sticking with modern models, 2.4ghz.

What are the equivalents (to the DX6i, or DX7s from Spektrum for example), and what made you decide to try different ones? Was it one specific heli/quad you really wanted to get your hands on?

Finally, what do you prefer? If you have any larger helis where it's up to you what RX to pop into them, which TX/RX did you end up going with?

I found out with the help of the Orange 3 Axis Stabilizer in the plane, and the 6 Axis in the 450 that I could indeed fly in wind! This was my first attempt at flight in conditions other than dead-calm!
Also found out me and Sonny Boy aren't the only ones flying at said soccer field! While walking back to the car, I spied a broken Dynam Propeller lying on the ground...hmm...wonder who it could be??

I have recently replaced the main shaft of a syma S107g and I thought, it will be easy for this "model LY-33013" too, but realized that compared to syma 107g, the metal shaft is thicker as well as the plastic part at the top of the shaft is bit thicker as well. I am trying find a replacement part for this and don't know how to order it.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi, I recently purchased A Dynam E Razor 250 and when it's about to lift off it tilts over and the blades strike the ground. I have read in other forums and they say that this is normal that it will level out once it is up in the air if I throttle up fast enough to be air born quickly. So I took it out to the field and did so, they were completely wrong. It was in the air for no more than a second then hit the dirt and bent the main shaft.
I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this issue what I'm doing wrong to fix the unit from tipping over at lift off, or if there is a setting that fixes this problem. I have read all the manuals and there is no help in them about this problem what so ever.

I read on Flysky's website that there is a new Tx about to come out and was wondering if anyone knows its approximate release date?

This new Tx looks great but I don't know much about its price or release date. :(

Could be still in the testing phase.

Hello,

I am new to the forum, and have been flying R/C for a bit over a year now. I have progressed from trainers to warbirds, F4F, Mustangs, Spitfires, and a couple of GeeBees and can fly those with no problems. I would like to move up to an EDF and have been looking at the Exceed MIG 15 70mm EDF. I think I could fly it OK based on trying one on the Realflight simulator, but that isn't always a 1 to 1 correlation. Can anyone out there with experience in these jets recommend a good "starter" jet? Would the MIG be it, or possibly another one? I want something that can land on grass fields (cut low), and like retracts, but that isn't essential. I have flown the Nitroplanes Neptune EDF flying wing and loved it, but want something that is scale looking.

Thanks!

Since I am still new at this hobby, there is a lot I do not know. Mostly, I don't know where to find some of the answers for the questions that I have. I have looked at the FAQ and found some but not all.

Here is an example. Can a flybar, four channel heli do stunts such as the ones I see on various videos? I am guessing the answer is no. I can't figure out how it would hover upside down.

I have seen a few vids that supposedly explain how to learn or do some stunts. They all seem to assume some knowledge I do not have. For example, one demonstrated a forward flip. The bird he used did not have a flybar.

So, before I dig a hole in the ground, what capabilities does a helicopter need to have to do some minimal stunts.
I am aware of the Made in China aspect but why does a company like NitroPlanes allow such substandard manuals to get into its customer's hands!! Over the years I have seen the decline of quality but this manual has hit a new low. :flaming

And to think about it, it is not even that difficult to get someone to proof read it once and correct the errors. Why NitroPlanes why? Why are you tolerating such low quality? If I had a choice I would immediately switch to someone who shows a tad bit of attention to quality.

So I'm slowly progressing to the point where I want to give inverted flying a VERY limited try, but I'm having trouble finding clear instructions on how to do so. I've been shopping around for a simulator but would rather spend that money on adding some larger helicopters to my collection, so I come here with hopes that someone can explain it clearly to me.

I have a Master CP with a Devo7 setup at factory specs (confirmed this, didn't just take someone's word on it). I use a "Mode 1" where the throttle is the left side. From what I can tell I just throttle up as normal, trim as normal, then hover at least six feet off the ground while making sure that the "throttle hold" switch is on. Once hovering I'm supposed to switch the top right switch to position 2 to performance / acrobat (or whatever) mode making sure that the left stick is at mid-stick. Is this right so far. Then I start moving forward and then throttle up and pull back on the right stick at the same time? Is this it or am I way off?

I've watched a couple of videos and read a lot but honestly, there's no way I'm gonna even try unless i get a definitive explanation......hopefully from you guys / girls!

I'm using the imax B6 charger to charge/discharge/balance/store my LiPo batteries, and I'm using it with a 6 amp power supply. I've noticed with anything larger than 2 cell batteries, the charger gets rather warm. Whenever I charge my bigger batteries I do them at 3 amps, the 1 and 2 cells at 2 amps. The 1 or 2 cell batteries don't really get the charger too warm, but anything above that's another issue. Could it be because of the small power supply? I mean, at 3 amps I'm using half it's rated output, I should also note the power supply gets really warm too with the larger batteries...is this a normal thing? Whenever I charge my 3 or 4 cells I'll charge one, let it cool off, charge another one, etc., which is a little time consuming, but better safe than sorry! I'm wondering if perhaps a larger power supply would help with all the heat, or if, again, it's "normal"?

Greetings all
Very new to flying model helis, about 6 weeks now. Anyway, my largest ship is the V913 from WL Toys. After an unfortunate encounter with a brick wall -- I swear it was a gust of wind -- it now has some issues and I do not know how to go about tackling them. Forgive me if the information is posted here but I could not find anything.

Here are my issues.

1. There is a noticeable vibration in the rotor now. I am not sure what is causing it. A close visual inspection failed to show anything bent or broken. I replaced both the main and tail rotors with no improvement. How do I go about finding the cause? It does not seem to affect flight.

2. The bird spins rapidly clockwise while sitting on the ground and spooling up. With some cyclic and throttle I can sort of control it once it is out of ground effect. I have tried the electronic trimming with no success. It seems the tail rotor is not turning fast enough. Once up to some speed the tail rotor seems to kick in. Question: Is this spinning normal or a result of the crash? Can it be controlled?

Thanks for bearing with me. Any advice will be much appreciated.

I just got one of these and got it installed on one of my 450's with a 4 blade head and when I spool up, in HH mode, the nose keeps wanting to rotate to the left a little at a time, I've turned the gain down in the radio to 25 from 71 starting point recommended by the manual and down to 7 in rate mode from 25 starting point by manual. Do I maybe need to go into the settings of the Gyro itself and turn the gain down slightly and see how it reacts then? Or what should I do here? I've upgraded the firmware of the gyro to 4.01. And have all the compensations working in the correct directions now, and have set it to beginner without modifying any of the gain or agility settings from default beginner settings. In the default settings for the tail it shows 30 yaw left 30 yaw right agility and 70 for the gain, should I maybe turn it down to about 60 or 65 maybe and see if it still does the yawing to the left on spool up?

i look back to the begining were i didnt know anything had poor equipment didnt know how to charge batts didnt no how to figure out flight time. i burned up lipos like they were nitro fuel i crashed literaly every flight.

jump forward 3 or 4 years. i have a good radio have good batts and charger tons of dedicated rc tools and even a few computer programs. i have a sim(rarely fly it now) and things just work if i build a heli it flys and flies pretty well if i build a plane it seems to do the same, dont crash on maidens anymore.

but im now in the the area where dumb will crash me and has. so pretty much at either end of the spectrumn we crash. but it seems crashes are now spred out by months and even sometimes years.

i recently just just put together a literaly 20 dollar plane a f22 cut out of phone. freind of mine atualy built the airframe. and man i think its just as much fun to fly as my 1200 dollar helicopter . a few years ago i wouldnt have touched a cheesy looking home brew bird with a ten foot stick because it just isnt cool. turns out its realy freaking cool

Hi guys n gals, I crashed my quad for the umpteenth time and I never had electrical damage from crashing this quad. This morning I was flying on my new 8000mAh battery and for 4 minutes it flew like I expect it to and as soon as my wife opens the door to watch me fly at that moment the quad flips over faster than when I tried and failed to flip it, it was really fast. So after flipping it up right I armed the quad for flight and when all the motors spin at a simi slow speed motor 2 spins slower and without completing a full rotation it continuously spins one way then the other and still not making full rotation.
It is normal for one or even two motors to spin a bit slower until throttle moves above 10% stick, new firmware you must move above 50% before all motors spin at full speed for flight then takes off.
I have tried a little bit of trouble shooting but I cant do much without taking the assembly apart. I don't solder well enough to try soldering anything I'll put in the air and all points before the battery and naza are soldered. I need to know if I should replace the esc only or if I should look into another motor also.
thanks for the help

Went for a fly at the park last night and the wind kept kicking my butt. I got flipped over three times and each time I was able to get back in the air with no problems. This morning I went for a fly and I had no problems, the wind is low today, until my wife joins me in front and as soon as she opened the door my quad flipped and landed up-side-down, I was simply hovering at about 4 to 6 feet above the ground. So I turn it over and arm the motors and to my surprise motor two spins one way then the other way and as the other motors spin number two spins back n forth not making a continuous turn in any direction.... whats the problem here? Is it the motor or is it the esc? I ask because I have never had an issue with esc's going bad nor have I had a problem with a motor.
I'm highly upset because this all happened in less than 10 feet of air and all falls were in my soft grassy yard so there is no physical damage to the vessel other than a chipped prop.... I of course dropped the throttle to zero to keep from damaging electronics. Now I am clueless to what to start looking into and I don't want to start undoing my wiring since they are all soldered
How can I check this individual esc and motor/ Or, can Naza assistant help?

So, brought the helis over to show my father when I visited last weekend. Yesterday I got a call from him. Turns out a friend of his was also into r/c helis, but got out of it a while back. He still has all his stuff--including a "medium sized" Align TRex, brand new, never even taken out of the box. My father doesn't know anything more than that. I'm assuming it's probably a 450 sized heli.

Going to call and get more information. Not sure if it's a kit or RTF or BNF/ARF. It was implied that if I was interested, it would be available at a discount, along with "everything" that goes with it. Again, this is through the telephone game with my father, so I need more details.

I'm not sure I'm ready for, or want a larger heli yet. I also worried that when I got to these larger (more dangerous? other than to my wallet) helis, I would have wanted to find someone local to help me out, or be there to possibly keep me from doing something stupid.

I'm curious if it has a flybar or not, which receiver he has for it, and if no to either/both of those, what it's going to take to switch over to be able to use my Spektrum DX7s and get rid of the flybar (as far as both work involved and money). I've read some posts about people saying that dealing with tuning a flybar on larger birds can be frustrating, and it seems like everyone is moving away from them as the option becomes available.

I also know there is a lot more maintenance involved in larger CP helis, looking for and minimizing vibrations, locktite down all the parts that aren't supposed to move, and pre/post flight checkups to be sure everything is in order. Whereas my experience so far has been "Hrm... that all looks like it's supposed to and the servos are responding to my input *flips throttle hold off and flies away*."

Other than the availability of FBL systems, have there been any other breakthroughs in this design over the last couple years that I should be aware of? How new are brushless motors, or were they always used in these larger models? I'm unsure how long ago he was into this hobby, or how old the kit is. I may as well just be better off buying a new updated version when I'm ready, depending on how much I'd need to change down the road.

I might be be paranoid with all my above questions, as I've heard the Trex 450 is one of the go-to helis, been around for quite some time, and is proven, with lots of support/information/parts available for it.

I don't believe there is any rush in picking it up, it can sit there for as long as it needs before I graduate into that category, is my understanding. Just looking for information so I can appear to have half a clue with how to follow up on this, or if you think there are any questions I should ask him when I talk to him.

Will post again with more information as I find it.

So the V400D02 that I ordered was crushed by the shipper and they are paying me for it. While I was waiting on it I had time to do more research and I'm thinking about getting something else instead. I got the RC Helicopter bug bad after I bought my first V-911 and went bananas with the spending and ordered all of the non-coaxes listed in my signature all within a month of each other. I've fallen in love with each in their own way but I have to reel in my spending and this will be my last one for awhile.

My goal was to get a helicopter that flys like the Master CP but is a bit larger. I'm not flying 3-d at all, just gaining experience daily and will eventually get there. Now that I have a better feeling for what I want, I need to decide if I want to go ahead with the V400D02 or go with a V450D03. I'm constantly in here asking question after question, but I do it because I always get good advice. Both of these helicopters are similar in size and are similar in price. What do you think? Oh, and for what it's worth I'm going BNF with the Devo7 that I already have for now, I may upgrade the controller once I actually get some skill!

Just spun her up for her first test hover out back. Really smooth, so happy to have the sport back in the fleet, now she is more like a super sport though. 450mx, ice 50 esc, 3gx 3.1, cyclic 5065mg, tail ds520, have the micro heli aluminum bottom frame, tarot unibody main shaft, kde boom supports, fusuno feathers, and kbd tail blades, with align 325 mains. Was one rotation off on the tail first hover for rate mode, made the adjustment, and try to head out back and record a hover. She is really sweet.

Just prior to the outbreak of American involvement in World War II, the U.S. Navy, having heard reports of a superb fighter produced by the Japanese, realized that the current Navy fighters, the F4F Wildcat and the F2A Buffalo, were close to, if not already, obsolete. Grumman Aircraft won a contract to produce a fighter that would match the performance of the fighters produced by the Axis powers. The F6F was the result. By January 1943 the Navy was receiving a steady supply of Hellcats, quickly proving the design while pressing the airplanes into service fighting the many sea battles of the Pacific. Although unable the match the Zero's turning abilities, the Hellcat pilots learned to use the airplane's greater horsepower, speed, and firepower to win battles.

Dynam RC is proud to bring you a scale EPO foam recreation of the F6F Hellcat. It features a high performance 500KV brushless motor and 40amp brushless electronic speed controller. It also comes equipped with a totally redesigned electrical retract system allowing the pilot to tuck the landing system out of the way and reduce drag. The Dynam Hellcat is flap ready with cutout for flap servos positioned to make installation of flaps a breeze.

The Dynam F6F Hellcat is a great looker in the air and shows excellent flight characteristics at both high and low speed. It is made from super durable EPO foam and while deliver hours upon hours of enjoyable flight time.

This almost ready to fly version comes with the power system, servos, and retracts installed. You will need a 14.8v 2200mah battery, a charger capable of charging the 14.8v Li-Po battery, 2.4ghz radio system to complete the build and ready the plane for flight.

The Tiger Moth trainer model can be regarded as a legend in the aviation history. In the 30-40 years of the 20th century, most of the British and Commonwealth pilots were flying their first plane, a Tiger Moth. The pilots claimed the aircraft was easy to manipulate and felt secure. Some even mentioned that "you can fly it with your eyes closed." The Tiger Moth will always be a remembered as a great plane and can be seen in museums or even out flying in the sky.

This Dynam Tiger Moth is created with a classis appearance with vivid scale details. The wings span 50 inches long and the fuselage has an overall length of about 41 inches. Under the cowl you will find a 650KV brushless outrunner motor connected to a Detrum 40 amp brushless speed controller. The control surfaces are handled by 4 9 gram Dynam servos for precise movement. The entire electronics and power system is powered by a 14.8v 2200mah lithium polymer battery. The Dynam Tiger Moth is stable in flight due to the balanced center of gravity and bi-plane design. Pilot will find this model to be stable yet agile in its maneuvers allowing all skill levels to enjoy its flight.

Hey guys n gals, I'm back.....
I changed the frame on my quad and then the naza-m had an update come out. I updated my naza and its seems better but I'm not totally convinced quite yet. After I calibrated the naza for the first time due to the update I noticed that when I change rates the quad would wobbles nearly out of control until I switch the rate back the first setting and the wobble stops. I've been tweeking the rates since but I want to know if anyone else has had this problem.

The rates are changed when I move the 3way switch on tx.... position 1 rates are good for flying but not too reactive at 60 percent, position 2 was a bit snappier, ok for flying but wiggles then wobbles at 100 percent, and position 3 rates are the worst, at 150 percent it's super snappy (all stick movements -throttle) which is fine but the wiggles turn to wobbles and then it wobbles so bad it looks like it'll fall out the sky but the naza amazingly holds the quad in the air. It looks horrible and I can't be sure how long this can stay in the air moving like that but I switch back to position one and bring her down at that point to see what changes will bring better results.
This wiggle/wobble happens higher up around 25 thru 30 feet+. The higher the wind speeds the quicker and more dramatic this effect becomes. When I make changes I focus on position 2 and 3 rates and I aim to have the three evenly spaced. I want to have a setting with higher rates so I can have the quad react immediately since at lower rates there will be a drawl (y'all) in the commands.....
I've balanced the blades and the weight distribution on the quad and I made sure to center the naza this time for accurate readings.
I have noticed that I'm getting 3 solid additional minutes per flight with this new firmware :)) AND the light to shade to light doesn't seem to be affecting the altitude during flight..

If you can help that would be awesome!!!
Thanks
